I grew up here in Dallas, attending St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School and Bishop Lynch High School. I hold a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics and Psychology from Kansas State University and started my career with a non-profit, Project SEED, teaching advanced mathematics to elementary and middle school students throughout West and South Dallas. I made my move to the classroom in 1996 and taught 8th grade math for five years at Thomas Alva Edison Middle Learning Center in West Dallas. I finished my education requirements during my time at Edison from the University of Texas at Dallas and hold a lifetime teaching certificate in 6-12 mathematics. In addition to my classroom experience, I have also worked as a teacher at the old Science Place at Fair Park and as a private tutor. After taking time off for family, I returned to teaching, first as a substitute and now at SCS.
When I'm not teaching, I am home with my family. I have been married 23 years and am mom to six kids ages 10 to 15, including four 13-year-old surviving sextuplets.
